Where did the last 10 years go? Thankfully this list of 50 tremendously awesome tunes will remind us all what a rewarding musical adventure it all was between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2019. The only rule of this collection was one song entry per artist for the sake of diversity.

I thought long and hard about my #1 song from the previous 10 years. Could have easily have gone with “Sprawl II” by Arcade Fire. There is just something that enchants me with the vocal performance by Régine Chassagne. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for those 80s themed keyboards pulsating throughout the song. Ultimately, I decided that the top spot has to be “Let It Happen” by Tame Impala. It is a song that quite literally destroyed my computer the first time I played this psychedelic behemoth through its speakers. Granted some of that was due to a partially spilled beverage on the keyboard from all the excitement of new music. What a glorious way to end a laptop’s life force that had served me well from the fall of 2007 to the spring of 2015. Now I just have to figure out where to bill Kevin Parker for the collateral damage.
