Bike Dream - Rostam
Rostam, formerly of Vampire Weekend, brings us today's SOTD, one of the best songs of 2017. It comes off his latest album, Half-Light. The album itself is a must listen. As always, Rostam pushes the limits, showing off his true artistry and lyrical prowess. In addition to singing, he plays piano and electric guitar on "Bike Dream", which he loops in combination with the sound of vinyl crackling. While not wanting to delve into the details of this song's lyrics, he does state in an interview with NPR, "It's about wanting the person you're with to be two different people, maybe two different kinds of people." If you have been itching for some Vampire Weekend, let this soothe you for now.
