1/27/18: The Good Side - Troye Sivan

ARIGO MUSIC'S DAILY SONG SUGGESTION

Who needs Spotify, Apple Music, or Pandora? Well we all do, but here's OUR song suggestion of the day:

"The Good Side" - Troye Sivan

"The Good Side" is the second single released this year from South African-born Australian singer/actor/Youtube personality Troye Sivan. It comes in anticipation of his sophomore album, likely to be released some time this year. On this single, Sivan channels a more sad and personal side than his listeners may be used to, showing his maturity, range, and mastery of the dream-pop ballad. Sivan emotionally sings of his breakup a few years back and how he has used music to come out stronger. As the lyrics state, he "sympathizes" with his ex, "recognizes" that the world knows about their love and breakup through his last album, Blue Neighbourhood, and "apologizes" for coming out on the "good side of things". It's a beautiful song that combines a slowed down acoustic guitar with harps, synths, and dreamy effects, which emanate similar vibes to a Sufjan Stevens, Imogen Heap, or Tame Impala song.
